Datasource: prescription orders collected from the Sentinella network.
Sentinella Outpatient Dataset The Swiss Sentinel Surveillance Network (Sentinella) records the prescribing practice of systemic antibiotics in the outpatient sector with
regard to a possible prescription optimization and reduction of resistances. The Sentinella data includes all antibacterial prescriptions reported
by general practitioners, internal medicine physicians and pediatricians. The network covers all regions of Switzerland. Extrapolation to population
level was done by assigning the estimated insured population to each Sentinella physician.
The stacked bar chart shows the number of antibiotic prescriptions per quarter for the selected indication over the last years. It is possible to choose whether to display the prescriptions of general practitioners or paediatricians.
The data can be displayed either as prescriptions per 100'000 inhabitants or as prescriptions per 1000 consultations.
